            Dr. Periklis Proussaefs is a certified prosthodontist, a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, and an Associate Professor at Loma Linda University. He is the founder of the California Institute of Dental Education while he maintains a private practice in Ventura, California. Dr. Proussaefs has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles in the dental literature and has been serving for more than 15 years as an Editorial Board member for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, the Journal of Prosthodontics, and the Journal of Oral Implantology.

He is the recipient of multiple awards for his research and publications. Among others, he received twice the Hickley Award by the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry (2002 and 2016), the Tylman award by the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics (2002), and the Robert James achievement award by the Advanced Education Program in Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University (2015).

Dr. Proussaefs has received formal training in all forms of sedation since 1997. He has been providing dental care for patients under I.V. (moderate) sedation or oral (minimal) sedation.  Having tremendous exposure in sedating patients over the years, his seminars will be focused on SAFETY, and in particular airway management, patient monitoring, and handling emergencies. The course involves lecturing, hands-on practicing on a manikin, and real patient experience. The discussion with the instructor will focus on sharing the instructor’s 20 years’ experience in sedating dental patients.
